Former One Tree Hill heartthrob Chad Michael Murray has opened up about a harrowing near-death experience that left him hospitalised and fighting for his life. The actor, best known for his role as Lucas Scott in the hit TV series, revealed he lost nearly half of his blood due to a severe medical emergency.
A Terrifying Ordeal
Murray described the incident as one of the most frightening moments of his life. "I was bleeding internally and didn't even realise it," he shared. "By the time I got to hospital, I'd lost about 50% of my blood volume."
Emergency Treatment
Medical professionals rushed to stabilise the actor, administering multiple blood transfusions to replace what he'd lost. "The doctors told me I was incredibly lucky to be alive," Murray admitted. "If I'd waited any longer to seek help, the outcome could have been very different."
The Road to Recovery
The 42-year-old actor has since made a full recovery but says the experience has given him a new perspective on life. "When you face your own mortality like that, it changes you," he reflected. "I don't take my health for granted anymore."
