Celebs Rally for England Quarter-Final Match

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown and award-winning actor Mike Myers were among the celebrities sharing excitement for England’s quarter-final match against Norway on Saturday.

Celebrity Support for England

EastEnders actor Ross Kemp and pop star Olly Murs also joined in the pre-match excitement, as the men’s national football team prepared to face off with the Nordic country at Miami Stadium in Florida.

Brown, 22, shared a photo of herself in an oversized red and white shirt embellished with the text “Fifa World Cup 2026”, which she accessorised with a black beret, sunglasses and a pair of gold hoop earrings. The actress, best known for playing telekinetic teenager Eleven in the Netflix smash-hit series, looked glamorous with a handbag propped on her arm and captioned the photo “come on” with a gif of England captain Harry Kane. She accompanied the post with Oasis’ hit song Wonderwall – which has become an unofficial anthem of the football tournament, with the England squad lining up to sing it back to fans.

Myers and Kemp Show Support

Emmy-winner Myers also expressed support for the England team, sharing a photo of himself saluting wearing the signature red uniform and black bearskin cap donned by the Guards regiments in the UK. Beneath the post, the actor and comedian, known for smash-hit film franchises such as Shrek and Austin Powers, wrote: “Waiting for tonight’s World Cup match! Go team England.”

Ross Kemp, famed for his role as hardman Grant Mitchell in BBC soap EastEnders, shared a sweaty video from the gym ahead of the match speaking about “positive vibes”. The actor said: “We, as a nation now, have to think incredibly positive. Take the doubts out of your mind, think positive, because Norway are going to be a very, very difficult team to beat. As a nation, we can do it. We know as a team, they can do it. So we really need to get behind them. Positive vibes, send the vibes over the Atlantic to Miami. Come on England.”

Murs and Beckhams Join In

Chart-topping singer Murs, known for hits including Troublemaker and Dear Darlin’, shared videos with his friend TV personality Mark Wright as the pair were in Miami to watch the match live. The two posted a video both wearing England football kits and drinking pints, and Murs later took to his Instagram story with a clip of them singing the national anthem ahead of kick-off.

The children of former footballer Sir David Beckham and Spice Girl Lady Victoria also joined in the excitement, with youngest son Cruz sharing a snap in an England football T-shirt. The singer posed for the photo alongside his girlfriend, fellow musician Jackie Apostel, who was pouting as she hid her face behind a navy cap with a Union Jack flag on. His brother, Romeo, shared a similar photo donning a football kit which he captioned “England day”, as well as a selfie with his youngest sibling Harper as they posed in the stands ahead of the match. “Proud to be English,” he added in an additional photo, showing a sea of white and red among the fans in the crowd. The Beckham children were also pictured alongside their parents, nicknamed Posh and Becks, in the stands during the highly anticipated match.

Other stars who attended the game in the US included comedian Jack Whitehall and Love Island presenter Maya Jama, who shared snaps from the stadium among the tens of thousands of England fans.
