Celebs Go Dating's Donna Preston Reveals Weight Gain Led to Relationship Breakdown

Donna Preston, the comedian and star of Celebs Go Dating, has emotionally revealed how her weight gain contributed to the end of a previous relationship. The 39-year-old, who also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, opened up to dating experts Paul C Brunson and Anna Williamson during Thursday night's episode of the E4 show.

Fighting back tears, Donna explained that her former partner told her he had not loved her for four years, adding: 'What really got me was that he said "I should have left you four years ago because I haven't loved you for four years".' She continued: 'It was what it was but I put on weight. That was...just weight. But that's when it really started going sour.'

Anna Williamson responded by telling Donna that she had not been her 'own cheerleader' in relationships, suggesting she felt responsible for the breakdown because of her appearance. In a private confessional, Anna noted that Donna keeps many emotions hidden and is protecting what she believes is a 'very broken heart'.

After the session, Donna told cameras: 'The session today has been a tricky one. And speaking to Anna and Paul, they have given me some great advice. It's just not okay the way I was treated back then but going forward, hopefully I can be stronger.'

Earlier in the series, Donna ended a blind date early after her date, hydraulics engineer Damien, made a crude sexual comment. After he joked about being 'quite good at giving things a service', Donna said: 'Absolute filth!' and later told the camera: 'I don't know if he's being creepy, or smarmy, or complimentary.'
