The BBC has released the first-look trailer for the second season of The Celebrity Traitors, and fans have been left saying the same thing as Claudia Winkleman returned to the screen.
The teaser shows the former Strictly Come Dancing presenter addressing the new line-up of famous faces taking on the ultimate game of trust. The new batch follows in the footsteps of Alan Carr, who won season one after becoming the ultimate Traitor.
New Cast Revealed
Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, and Joanne McNally would be among the participants. Also appearing alongside Claudia in the Scottish Highlands are Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha'la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E. Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.
In the trailer, all the contestants are present as Claudia asks for "a moment of silence for the celebrities gathered today." Standing in a church, with the stars sat in pews in front of her, the presenter has reprised her iconic looks, this time wearing a ruffled collared shirt under a black suit. "Thoughts and prayers," she continues, before departing, while teasing: "Who doesn't love a dramatic exit?"
Fan Reactions
Viewers have been left sharing their excitement after watching the trailer, and several expressed how they "can't wait" for the series to drop. One shared: "Oh god this is going to become my entire personality again, isn't it," as another wrote: "Oh I’m so excited to see Claudia back on my screen. Will be watching from Australia."
Someone else said: "I absolutely cannot wait, gonna have to binge the first series just for a delightful hit before this starts." Another added: "I'm so happy it's Traitors season again." "Sick with excitement," another echoed, while someone else wrote: "This cast is WILD. I can't wait." Yet another wrote: "Oh this is going to be EPIC!!"
The BBC confirmed that The Celebrity Traitors would return for a second run back in November, after the first series proved to be a huge hit with fans. It had already given us plenty of memorable moments, from Alan Carr's hysterical antics as he hung from a tree, exclaiming "I feel like a winner and a eunuch," to Tom Daley's side-eye at Kate Garraway, and Celia Imrie causing a stir online with her unexpected wind.
What to Expect in Season 2
Announcing the second season, the BBC stated: "With Claudia Winkleman once again at the helm, the now iconic Ardross Castle will host a new group of star-studded schemers in 2026 as the ultimate game of trust and treachery returns." Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC, commented: "Studio Lambert have done an outstanding job as The Celebrity Traitors has well and truly captivated the nation, becoming a bona fide highlight of the year bringing record numbers of people together to enjoy every twist and turn."
In 2026 the doors of the castle will be opened again to welcome celebrity players to the game to see who can charm, who can scheme and ultimately who can survive in series two which promises to be just as unmissable as the first. Plus with Uncloaked returning and today's news of the positive contribution The Traitors brand has made to Scotland's economy, there is plenty to celebrate.
The Celebrity Traitors returns to BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
