Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins saw three more contestants depart following a brutal first challenge in the new series. Reality star Marnie Simpson, comedian Tez Ilyas and former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw all exited the Channel 4 endurance show after struggling with the opening task, which involved pulling more than 130lb of kit across 3km of icy terrain with a partner before facing hand-to-hand combat.
Former Geordie Shore star Simpson became frustrated within moments of the challenge as she struggled to fit her snow spikes to her shoes. She told fellow recruits and directing staff: 'I'm so done... I just want to go home. I've accepted it, I'm just not cut out for it.' In a piece to camera she added that she did not believe she was a diva, but could only do what was physically possible and felt many people were in an 'each man for themself' world. Her exit left her partner, former professional boxer Anthony Ogogo, to complete the rest of the task alone.
Stand-up Ilyas, paired with reality star Pete Wicks, struggled so much that a crew member requested his armband and sent him back to the medic, telling him: 'You've got nothing left to give, you're becoming a safety problem.' Wicks, who returned for the series after being medically withdrawn from the show in 2022, continued alone but was later stopped for a medical assessment after becoming dizzy. He was cleared to continue but warned he would have to leave if it happened again.
Later in the episode, Robshaw injured his shoulder during a physical and mental test against professional basketball player Ovie Soko. The rugby star told the team 'My shoulder's gone' and was medically withdrawn after medics said it could 'pop at any time'. The same task saw Love Island star Georgia Harrison beat Rachel Johnson, sister of former prime minister Boris Johnson.
The sixth series, filmed on the South Island of New Zealand, features a line-up including former Olympic gymnast Ellie Downie, world heavyweight champion boxer Lani Daniels, reality TV star Bianca Gascoigne, TV presenter Cherry Healey, comedian Shazia Mirza and reality star Bobby Norris. Actor John Barrowman was the first to quit the series, just 32 minutes after arriving at base camp. The show airs on Channel 4 every Sunday and Monday.
