Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell, who have a reported combined net worth of $20 million, have revealed that they keep their finances completely separate despite being married for 18 years. The confession came during an appearance on SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live on Thursday.
When host Andy Cohen joked that Jerry must be feeling the pinch after his hosting gig on The Talk ended last year, Rebecca, 52, said: 'We keep our money completely separate.' She added that it was 'one of the first conversations you have when you decide to enter into a legal agreement together.'
However, the couple, who have 16-year-old twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly, do have a 'community pot' for family expenses. Rebecca explained that they each contribute quarterly, but the amount depends on 'who's working more.' Jerry added: 'The one who's not working gets a little bit of a break and the one who is working puts in a little more.'
The pair met at the Maxim Hot 100 bash in Las Vegas in 2004, while Rebecca was separated from her then-husband John Stamos. She filed for divorce one month later, and they married in 2007. Speaking about the longevity of their marriage, Rebecca told DailyMail.com in 2023: 'We just keep on laughing. Keep it light.' Jerry added that he tries to avoid conflict, joking: 'If I think a fight is happening, I run! My wife is also a Scorpio.'
The family lives in Calabasas, where John Stamos is their neighbour. Jerry admitted he has not seen him since the Full House actor moved in in 2021, but said: 'I make sure that my hair is perfect every day just in case I do see him.' He added that any encounter would be 'very friendly.'
