Television presenter Cat Deeley and her husband, comedian Patrick Kielty, have opened up about the heartbreaking loss they endured before welcoming their son, Milo. In a deeply personal interview, the couple shared their emotional journey through grief and resilience.
A Devastating Blow
The couple revealed they suffered a miscarriage before Cat fell pregnant with Milo, now six. The loss left them shattered, with Patrick admitting he struggled to support Cat while processing his own grief.
"We were over the moon when we found out Cat was pregnant," Patrick told Times Radio. "Then suddenly, it was all gone. I felt helpless watching Cat go through that pain."
The Long Road to Healing
Cat, now a presenter on This Morning, described how the experience changed their perspective on parenthood. "When we finally had Milo, it felt like a miracle," she said. "But that loss stays with you forever."
The couple, who married in 2012, waited years before trying for children. "We wanted to be ready," Patrick explained. "But nothing prepares you for that kind of loss."
Finding Strength Together
Both credit their strong relationship for helping them through the dark times. "Patrick was my rock," Cat shared. "Even when he was hurting too, he never let me face it alone."
Now focusing on their young family, the couple says they've learned to appreciate every moment. "Milo knows he's loved," Cat smiled. "And we'll always honour the little one we lost."
