Cat Deeley was left red-faced on Thursday's episode of This Morning after co-host Ben Shephard compared her floral trousers to an old sofa. The 47-year-old presenter wore a pair of brown floral printed flared trousers, prompting Ben to quip: 'Can we just enjoy the extraordinariness of Cat Deeley's trousers today? She's gone into her mum's caravan and nicked the curtains!'
Cat hit back: 'That's so rude, we're not making Sound of Music, you know!' Later, Ben again likened her outfit to a sofa, with some viewers agreeing on social media. One fan wrote: 'Today, Cat is styled by Plumbs Stretch Covers,' while another said: 'Sack the stylist. Cat's outfit is horrendous.'
The wardrobe blunder comes as Cat settles into her new role on This Morning alongside Ben, after the show underwent a presenter shakeup following the departures of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby. Cat returned to the UK after more than a decade in the US, where she fronted shows like So You Think You Can Dance?.
Her move back was influenced by a gun scare involving her husband, comedian Patrick Kielty, and their son Milo. In 2020, Cat recounted how the pair were at a Shake Shack in Los Angeles when an ex-Amazon employee pointed a gun at staff. She recalled: 'Everyone was told to lie behind the counter... People were screaming and crying.'
