Callum Turner has addressed speculation that he will replace Daniel Craig as James Bond, telling Esquire UK he cannot comment on the rumours. The 36-year-old actor also revealed plans to start a family with his wife, popstar Dua Lipa, following their wedding in May.
Bond Rumours Dismissed
Turner, who has been the bookies' favourite for the role since his performance in George Clooney's The Boys in the Boat in 2023, laughed off questions about the part. "I’m not going to comment on that either," he said. "I don’t know anything, so I can’t comment. There’s nothing for me to comment on."
Asked about reports that he has already been cast, Turner added: "There’s nothing for me to comment on, and I think it’s best just to not say anything. I just know I’m not going to comment on it... Just because there’s no point in commenting on it in this moment."
Clooney's Endorsement
Clooney previously said Turner would make a great Bond, calling him "the perfect guy" because he is "handsome and charming and British." Turner, however, described the question of whether he would want the role as "so loaded."
Family Plans with Dua Lipa
Turning to his personal life, Turner described his wedding to Lipa in May as "amazing" and "the most beautiful day of my life." When asked what he wants from the next decade, he answered "more of the same" before adding "family" and explaining, "I’m 36. I’d like to have a family and raise some kids."
He also praised Lipa, saying, "It’s nice to find someone that you love and who loves you and you want to be around all the time." The full interview appears in Esquire UK.
