BY TERRY Glass Skin Products: Two Easy Ways to Get the Look

The 'glass skin' beauty trend remains popular, with shoppers seeking products that leave the complexion smooth, hydrated, and glowy. Originating in Korean beauty, the trend traditionally focuses on a skincare routine for a translucent, reflective finish, but beauty brands now offer makeup products to help fake the effect.

BY TERRY Products for Glass Skin

Two products from luxury beauty brand BY TERRY are worth knowing for achieving the look. The Brightening CC Serum and Hyaluronic Serum Concealer combine skincare ingredients with makeup, designed to create a more hydrated and perfected-looking complexion.

The BY TERRY Brightening CC Serum costs £62 for a 30ml bottle and is described as an “ultra glow skin filter”. Unlike a traditional foundation, the lightweight product illuminates and colour-corrects the complexion rather than providing heavy coverage. It contains Japanese rose extract, tea rose extract, and a vitamin complex with vitamins C, E, B3, and B5, and BY TERRY says the formula offers 24-hour hydration.

How to Use the Products

The CC serum can be worn on its own for a natural glow, underneath foundation for a more luminous base, or mixed with foundation for a dewier finish. The second product, the BY TERRY Hyaluronic Serum Concealer, costs £39 for 5.2ml. It sits between skincare and traditional concealer, containing different types of hyaluronic acid and promising buildable coverage with 24-hour hydration.

The concealer can be used under the eyes to disguise dark circles and signs of tiredness, as well as on blemishes, pigmentation, and areas of discolouration. Used together, the products offer an easy way to recreate the glossy, hydrated finish of the glass-skin trend without relying on a heavy foundation.

Cost and Alternatives

One drawback is the price: buying both products costs £101 at full price, with the CC Serum at £62 and the concealer at £39. While both combine skincare benefits with makeup, this is a significant amount for two complexion products. Cheaper alternatives include the e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter, a complexion booster for a dewy, soft-focus finish available in Boots for £13, and NYX Professional Makeup's Bare With Me Concealer Serum, a lower-priced hydrating serum-concealer option on sale in Superdrug for £11.49.
