James Bourne, the Busted star, has released a new musical project despite facing serious health issues that forced him to withdraw from touring. The pop star has finished the album 'Murder At The Gates' with American playwright Steven Sater after 13 years of work. It is set for release on 1 July.
Health Struggles Turned Into Creative Opportunity
Bourne admitted that his health struggles gave him the 'gift of time' to complete the project. He told The Sun: 'With everything going on with my health, I have been given the gift of time. It was like turning a negative into a positive.'
Fear of Not Finishing
The singer confessed he was scared he might never finish the musical. 'There was a fear of not finishing it but I knew I had to finish it and give this to the people. There are a few people that have been waiting for it. Hardcore fans who show up for everything – and I have been speaking about this for a long time. It feels so good to now have this as a finished product. And it's the first album I've ever produced. So I'm proud of it.'
Awaiting Life-Extending Surgery
In April, James gave fans a heartbreaking update that he was awaiting major surgery to 'extend his life' after withdrawing from Busted's tour with McFly hours before it started. Despite his health battles, he remains hopeful about his future.
