Brooklyn Beckham has baffled his followers by using water from the sea to boil his pasta. The 27-year-old, who disowned his famous family back in January, showed fans how he likes to cook tomato pasta when he's by the ocean.
Brooklyn shot the TikTok video last year while he was on a yacht holiday with wife Nicola Peltz. The son of David and Victoria Beckham shared the video again on Thursday (August 6) and it seems people still aren't ready for seawater pasta.
Controversial Cooking Method
The clip showed him chopping and frying tomatoes and using his hot sauce Cloud 23 to add flavour to his pasta dish. But it was his decision to dip his saucepan into the sea to get cooking water that rubbed people the wrong way. He was seen retrieving the ocean water from the back of the yacht, where it's believed the fuel leaks out.
Brooklyn said in the clip: "Today I am going to make some tomato pasta. Of course we get some pasta water."
Backlash and Response
The rather surprising food hack prompted some backlash in the comments. One joked: "Is boat exhaust the secret ingredient?", and another asked: "Isn't the ocean water dirty?" A third quipped: "Pasta water with a hint of burnt boat fuel please, sir," and a fourth wrote: "Bit dodgy the water."
Brooklyn has revealed cooking makes him happy and addressed negative comments about his more unusual methods. He told Insider: "To be honest, I'm used to the hate. It doesn't bother me." He added: "Cooking makes me happy. I have more important things to worry about than people saying a little bit of rubbish about me."
Family Rift
In his statement earlier this year, Brooklyn said he has "no plans to reconcile" with the Beckhams. He wrote: "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed."
Slamming his family, he said: "For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into."
David and Victoria are yet to directly address some of the claims he made against them. However, they have on numerous occasions featured Brooklyn in their family posts on social media.
