Brooklyn Beckham is said to have issued his parents David and Victoria with a legal letter instructing them to contact him only through lawyers, reportedly to protect his mental health.
The 26-year-old chef is believed to have sent a cease and desist letter after his parents shared several Instagram posts featuring him, which he claimed were affecting his mental wellbeing. According to sources, he wants any attempts at reconciliation to happen privately, not on social media.
An insider told The Mirror that the row escalated after his “requests to stop” were ignored, adding: “It had been leading to issues with his mental health… it was to protect himself.” The source claimed Brooklyn believes his parents still see him as a child.
The eldest Beckham child has been absent from numerous family occasions this year, including his parents’ birthdays and David’s knighthood ceremony. He also failed to attend Victoria’s Netflix documentary premiere and did not acknowledge family birthdays on social media except for sister Harper’s 14th.
It was previously reported that Brooklyn blocked his mother on Instagram after she liked a video he posted, an action seen as breaching the letter’s terms. A source told The Sun that the letter represents Brooklyn’s last formal contact with his parents, who are said to be “utterly bemused and devastated” by the situation.
