Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz were spotted arriving at Nice airport in the south of France for a luxury holiday, despite ongoing wildfires in the region. The couple, who married in 2022, drew attention from other travelers as they made their way through the terminal.
Brooklyn wore a white T-shirt, black trousers and a cream baseball cap, carrying two suitcases. Nicola opted for a long-sleeved black top and matching trousers, clutching an oversized Chanel bag. An onlooker told the Sun: “He looked a bit nervous, he kept looking around, but she appeared more laid-back and chilled. Lots of people recognised them and were nudging each other as they came through the arrivals terminal with their luggage.” Nicola later shared a picture of flowers on her Instagram story.
Wildfires continue to threaten France
The couple's journey comes as more than 300,000 people have been displaced from their homes across France and Spain due to the fires. Sky News reports that hundreds of homes have been destroyed, with residents in Le Barp, near Bordeaux, ordered to evacuate. France's Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said the fire was “moving erratically towards the Bordeaux metropolitan area,” according to the BBC.
Captain Nicolas Braz described the blaze as “erratic and unmanageable,” adding that it had created its own winds, complete with whirlwinds. Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia have sent water-dumping planes and helicopters to help.
Other celebrities affected
Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo revealed she was forced to leave her holiday in Cap Ferret with husband James Watt and his daughters. In an emotional Instagram story, she said: “We obviously knew about the fire but at that point it was quite far away… James just said to me on Thursday, we had four children with us, he was just like 'I don't like it…' and we could smell stuff and there were little bits of ash falling.”
She added: “We got everyone packed up and we left by boat because the road was closed on Thursday and stayed at the airport on Thursday night. We were very lucky we left a few hours before the island peninsula of Cap Ferret did a big evacuation in the early hours of that morning.”
