David and Victoria Beckham have reportedly been left devastated after their eldest son Brooklyn appeared in a social media advert that has been interpreted as a swipe at his famous family.
According to the Daily Mail, friends close to the Beckham family were left stunned by the sponsored video, which appeared on Brooklyn Beckham's Instagram account as part of a promotion with food delivery company DoorDash.
In the clip, Brooklyn, 27, is seen watching the World Cup before telling viewers: "You're probably wondering why I'm watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home... It's a long story."
The advert ends with the message: "It's complicated. More soon," prompting speculation that further videos could follow.
The Daily Mail reports that those close to David and Victoria believe the advert references the highly-publicised rift that has developed between Brooklyn and his family over the past 18 months.
A source quoted by the newspaper said: "To do an advert based on estrangement from family as if it's a joke when his family is devastated and his sister and grandparents are inconsolable is shocking."
"Especially from someone who claims he wants peace and privacy."
The latest development comes amid an ongoing family dispute that has seen relations between Brooklyn and his parents deteriorate significantly.
The video has sparked some backlash online, with a section of social media users criticising Brooklyn's decision to reference family issues in a commercial partnership.
One commenter wrote: "If you hate them so much drop the name and stop profiting from association."
The newspaper also claims there were several symbolic references within the advert, including a stack of unopened letters placed on a coffee table.
The Beckham family feud has remained firmly in the spotlight since Brooklyn and Nicola failed to attend David Beckham's 50th birthday celebrations in 2025.
In recent months, Brooklyn has publicly distanced himself from what he previously described as "Brand Beckham", while relations between both sides have continued to deteriorate.
Despite intense public interest, David Beckham has repeatedly declined to discuss the situation publicly.
Speaking recently while being honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the former England captain said the matter was "private" and something he did not want to talk about.
Neither Brooklyn Beckham nor representatives for David and Victoria Beckham have commented.
