Britney Spears has shared a concerning video on Instagram showing a bandaged knee, bruised arms, and smudged mascara, just hours after accusing her ex-husband Kevin Federline of gaslighting her. The 43-year-old singer, who regularly posts dancing clips, appeared visibly upset and close to tears in the latest upload.
In the video, Spears wears a see-through pink sparkly mini-dress with feather trim, displaying bandages on one knee and both hands, with visible bruises on her arms. She strikes various poses, moving back and forth while playing with her hair. The clip is set to the song 'Sex and Candy' by Unicorns, with the caption: 'If a girl is singing it should be there HE WAS HMMMM !!!!'
Earlier this month, Spears revealed she had fallen down the stairs, stating her leg 'snaps out now and then' and that she was unsure if it was broken. That caption has since been removed. The new video follows a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) in which she accused Federline of gaslighting her, ahead of the release of his memoir 'You Thought You Knew' on 21 October.
In her statement, Spears wrote: 'The constant gaslighting from ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting. I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys.' She claimed one son has only seen her for 45 minutes in the past five years, and the other for just four visits. She added: 'I am actually a pretty intelligent woman who has been trying to live a sacred and private life the past 5 years. I speak on this because I have had enough and any real woman would do the same.'
Federline's memoir details their two-year marriage and subsequent custody battle, including claims that Spears once held a knife while their sons were awake and used cocaine while breastfeeding. He also addresses her conservatorship, suggesting that the #FreeBritney movement should now focus on a 'Save Britney' movement, stating: 'This is no longer about freedom. It's about survival.' The Mirror has contacted Federline's representatives for comment.
