Big Brother winner Brian Dowling has renewed his wedding vows with husband Arthur Gourounlian in a celebratory ceremony, exactly a decade after their first nuptials. The couple, who originally married on 30 July 2015, marked the occasion surrounded by family and friends, including their two daughters, one-year-old Blu and three-year-old Blake.
Arthur shared photographs from the day on social media, showing the pair in matching black suits, posing amid floral displays and beaming while holding their children. Friends and followers were quick to send congratulations, with singer Natasha Hamilton among those commenting: "How beautiful- huge congratulations to you all."
Brian also posted a series of pictures, writing: "You know what, it’s a GORGEOUS DAY for a wedding @gourounlian …………… Wanna do it again TODAY." In a separate video of himself looking through his wedding album, he reflected on the past ten years, saying: "We had no idea what was ahead of us... Well, let’s just say it’s been ONE HELL OF A RIDE."
The couple’s vow renewal comes just one year after they welcomed their second daughter via surrogacy. Brian’s sister carried both children after Brian discovered he was infertile. Speaking on Ireland AM last November, he said: "It's something I have been very embarrassed about... The issue of the infertility for me is a much bigger issue, and that is of our daughter. I'm still her father - when I say I'm infertile, I still have a child."
Brian, who rose to fame on the second series of Big Brother, also offered an honest reflection on marriage, admitting: "Married life is not a walk in the park... Let’s just say the spare room has been occupied a couple of nights over the last 10 years, and that’s ok."
