ITV's Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards has publicly confirmed her new romance, sharing heartfelt details about her partner after celebrating their one-year anniversary.
From Manifestation to Reality
The television presenter confirmed the relationship just days ago, following a subtle online reveal where she posted a picture on Instagram holding her mystery man's hand. Speaking candidly on Loose Women during a discussion about whether having a boyfriend is considered embarrassing nowadays, Brenda opened up about her journey to finding love.
When co-star Ruth Langsford questioned her about the 'soft launch' on social media, Brenda responded with conviction. "I don't see that as soft, that's really hard. For me, that's hard," she explained. "I've been single for seven years as people know, and I have so many times on here, romanticised and have wanted the fairytale and that, and that prince... so I've kept him quiet for a year."
Brenda revealed she had actively manifested her partner on the show back in June, and he appeared in her life by November. "I gave my list and he ticked pretty much every box," she joyfully admitted to her supportive co-hosts.
The Meaning Behind the Reveal
The decision to share their relationship publicly was carefully considered, Brenda explained, describing herself as naturally private when it comes to romantic matters. She specifically chose the hand-holding image because of its deeper significance.
"We did speak about it and I wanted to do the hands, he's of Irish background, and it's Claddagh hands, the hands show friendship and loyalty and trust and unity, and I like everything about it," she shared. Fortunately, her partner was equally comfortable with the post, confirming they're "both on the same wavelength."
Co-star Myleene Klass, who has met the new partner, offered her endorsement, describing him as "very handsome, very lovely, and obviously adores you."
A Year of Love and Healing
Brenda, who is mother to daughter Tanisha and the late Jamal Edwards who tragically passed away in 2022 at age 31, marked the one-year anniversary with an emotional Instagram post last week.
Her caption celebrated their first year together, writing: "A year ago, you walked into my life with laughter in your beautiful eyes and so much unconditional love in your heart and every day since has been that much brighter."
She continued to praise his humour and steady spirit, concluding: "So here's to us, one year of laughter, love, and balance, and a lifetime still waiting to be written. I can't wait to keep turning pages with you, hand in hand, side by side, back to back, heart to heart. Love you Boy."
The post received overwhelming support from fans and colleagues alike, with Ruth Langsford wishing them a happy anniversary while Denise Welch humorously commented "SOFT LAUNCH!"
This new chapter represents a significant moment for Brenda, who has previously spoken about wanting to keep her romantic life away from the spotlight. She emphasised that while she shares much of her life on television, "I want to keep some things for myself, and that relationship I want to keep to myself, I just don't want to parade that person."
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
