Billy Ray Cyrus surprised fans on Thursday with a bold new take on his iconic mullet hairstyle during an appearance on Sunrise. The 56-year-old country music star, who is promoting his first Australian tour in over 18 years, concealed his eyes under a large black cowboy hat, giving him a rugged and mysterious look.
When host David 'Kochie' asked if he would consider bringing back his famous 90s mullet, Cyrus tucked his shaggy brown locks behind his ears and replied, 'there you go.' He added, 'I am not exactly sure what my look is these days,' before steering the conversation back to his music, saying he is 'deep into the music right now as a musician.'
Cyrus is celebrating 25 years since the release of his hit 'Achy Breaky Heart,' which achieved triple platinum status in Australia. He also stars in the Country Music Television series 'Still The King,' which was renewed for a second season earlier this year.
In family news, his daughter Miley Cyrus is set to release her sixth studio album 'Younger Now' this week, which Billy Ray described as her 'returning to her roots.' Earlier this week, Billy Ray and his wife Tish had their divorce case dismissed after failing to attend a case resolution hearing.
