Big Brother Star Danielle Lloyd Reveals Skin Cancer Battle and Vows to Quit Sunbeds

Celebrity Big Brother star Danielle Lloyd has shared an emotional health update as she continues her battle with skin cancer. The 41-year-old model was diagnosed in February after noticing a suspicious change in a mole on her leg.

In a candid video posted on Thursday, Lloyd revealed she has undergone surgery and is now focusing on recovery. She announced she is giving up sunbeds for good, opting for spray tans instead. “I used to be a total sun worshiper, never really thinking about the risk of skin cancer. But now, I’ve decided it’s better to fake the glow because my health and being there for my kids are what truly matter,” she said.

Lloyd, who has five sons, described the difficult conversation she had with her three eldest children about her diagnosis. She told Closer magazine: “It was difficult telling the older boys, Harry asked me if my hair was going to fall out.” Her two younger children have not been told, as they are too young to understand.

The reality TV star first shared her diagnosis in a tearful Instagram video in February, urging others to check their moles. “Please please please go to your doctor because honestly, you just never know,” she said. She praised Macmillan nurses for their support.

This is not Lloyd’s first health scare. In 2023, she was hospitalised with severe bleeding and later found to have large ovarian cysts, which were non-cancerous. Later that year, a lump in her breast was also confirmed to be benign.
