Gavin Brown, 36, was standing at the aisle waiting for his bride Rachelle Brown, 33, when the wrong song suddenly came on at Invercarse Hotel in Dundee on Friday, August 10. Left in a panic, the groom turned to the celebrant to say the music had been played but seconds later, his best man Darren Smith came marching down the room in an all-white dress to 'Bridal Chorus'.
Viral aisle surprise
A clip of the hilarious moment has since gone viral online and shows Darren, 36, embracing his best mate at the altar. Donning a £20 wedding dress from Amazon, Darren goes on to ask Gavin: "Give us a kiss." The groom then bursts out laughing, asking his pal: "What the f**k are you doing?" The pair then lock lips when guests can be heard roaring with laughter.

Darren's partner Jenna Whyte, 34, who was the maid of honour, told the Record: "It was hilarious. Darren initially intended to do a private joke between the pair of them and it was going to be a first look before the ceremony but the celebrant said the aisle surprise would be much funnier and it was. We really had to hype him up to do it and promise him drinks afterwards, but he was swayed and ended up buying his dress for 20 quid from Amazon. Me, the bride and other bridesmaids were hiding behind a door at the back watching and we had tears coming from our eyes, we were in hysterics."
"We didn't want to ruin the bride's makeup so we really had to control ourselves, it was so such a giggle. It made us feel a bit more at ease to go down the aisle after Darren's performance - the guests were buckled."
Reactions and what's next
Darren then rapidly got into a kilt before returning to the altar to be by Gavin's side. The clip, which has since raked up hundreds of views and shares online, then shows the bridesmaids walking gracefully down the aisle. Jenna, from Dundee, said: "We didn't expect it to go so viral but it is hilarious. Darren's boss actually got in touch with him asking him if he got married at the weekend."
Darren and I are actually getting married in less than two months, so we're just waiting to see what Gavin's got in store in return for Darren. Commenting on the video, Darren's mum said: "Never thought I’d see my son in a wedding dress and Gav's reaction was brilliant."
