Adam Gillen, known for playing Liam Conroy in the ITV comedy Benidorm, has continued his acting career with notable roles and married his co-star Laila Zaidi earlier this year.
From Benidorm to Boat Story
Gillen played Liam, the son of Les Conroy, in the show, starting as a maintenance worker before becoming a hairdresser at the Blow 'n' Go salon. He remained a fan favourite until the show ended in 2018.
In 2023, he took on the role of Vinnie Douglas in the BBC drama Boat Story, sporting a wiry beard, slicked-back grey hair and an earring. More recently, he transformed into old man William in How The Other Half Loves at The Old Vic theatre in London, which runs until September 19.
Marriage to Laila Zaidi
Gillen married Laila Zaidi, who played Cyd in the final episode of Benidorm. The couple began dating in 2018, the same year the show was axed. They got engaged in 2023 during a holiday in Croatia, with Zaidi sharing the news on social media.
The pair tied the knot at Hackney Town Hall earlier this year, sharing photos from the day with the caption: “6/1/26 – LEGALLY speaking Mr & Mrs”.
