Ben Fogle has shared his family's stunned reaction after he was unmasked as Sloth on the semi-final of The Masked Singer. The television presenter, best known for Channel 5's New Lives in the Wild, was the first contestant eliminated from the semi-final on Saturday, February 7.
Fogle, 51, took to Instagram after the episode aired to post a video of his unmasking and write: 'Life is too short not to have fun. When you are in danger of taking yourself too seriously……..become Slothy.' He added that the best part was singing one of his mother's songs from Half a Sixpence, and still no one guessed his identity.
The presenter, who has been married to Marina Hunt since 2006, said keeping the secret from his family was a challenge. On Monday, February 9, he shared a photo of his teenage daughter Iona wearing a jumper that read 'don't speak to me', captioned: 'Keeping sloth secret from my family was quite a challenge. I never keep secrets.' He noted that his children Ludo and Iona were 'lost for words' at the reveal.
Fogle's appearance on the ITV show, now in its seventh season, saw him perform in a sloth costume while judges Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and Maya Jama failed to guess his identity. Other celebrities unmasked this series include The One Show's Alex Jones, rapper Professor Green and Strictly judge Anton Du Beke.
