David Beckham has shared a heartfelt tribute to his mother Sandra following a lunch outing in Essex, as reports emerge that his son Brooklyn is considering adoption with wife Nicola Peltz. The former Manchester United star posted a photo on Instagram from Tony's Pie and Mash in Waltham Abbey, captioning it: 'Nothing better for the soul than Pie & Mash with mum. Love you mum.'
The 6 February visit saw Beckham, his mother, and sister Joanne enjoying the traditional meal, with the footballer also posing for photos with fans and signing football shirts. The cafe, where a pie and mash lunch costs £5.50, is reportedly a regular haunt for Beckham.
Meanwhile, a source told the Mail that Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz are discussing adoption as part of their family plans. 'They both want a brood of children, and for at least one to be adopted,' the source said, adding that the couple wish to 'give back' to a disadvantaged child.
The news comes amid an ongoing feud between Brooklyn and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. In January, Brooklyn posted a scathing statement on Instagram accusing his parents of being 'controlling' and prioritising 'Brand Beckham' over family. He also claimed they tried to sabotage his relationship with Peltz.
Further signs of estrangement include reports that Brooklyn has altered a tattoo tribute to his father on his right arm. The Mirror has contacted Brooklyn's representatives for comment.
