Sir David Beckham’s fortune has reportedly climbed to around £1.2 billion after he banked £19 million from World Cup endorsements, according to The Sun. The former England midfielder appeared in advertising campaigns for Lay’s, Bank of America, Stella Artois and McDonald’s during the tournament in North America.
Beckham, who has been one of the most marketable athletes since his time at Manchester United and Real Madrid, joined his wife Victoria and their children in the stands for several England matches before the Three Lions were knocked out by Argentina in the semi-finals. His face was also visible throughout the five-week competition in a series of brand spots.
Beckhams climb the UK rich list
According to the Sunday Times Rich List, David and Victoria Beckham have an estimated net worth of £1.185 billion as of May. That puts them 141st on the annual ranking of the 350 wealthiest people and families in the UK, a sharp rise from 273rd the previous year and from £500 million in 2025.
The couple’s wealth is drawn from fashion, football, music and a range of business interests. Beckham’s most successful investment has been Inter Miami, the Major League Soccer club he helped launch.
Inter Miami and other big paydays
Beckham paid £25 million for the rights to establish Inter Miami 12 years ago, seeing the potential of football in the United States early on. That stake is now estimated to be worth around £300 million, helped by Lionel Messi’s contract raising the club’s valuation.
He became Britain’s first billionaire sportsman, earning $800 million by his retirement in 2013 through salaries, revenue-sharing arrangements and endorsements with the likes of Adidas and Pepsi. His final six seasons in the MLS generated around $255 million alone.
In 2021, Beckham agreed a 10-year deal to act as Qatar’s tourism ambassador, reported to be worth $21 million per year and a minimum of $210 million in total.
Property and knighthood
The Beckhams also own a substantial property portfolio, including a Miami home valued at £60 million, a west London property at £50 million and a Cotswolds retreat at £12 million, alongside a £20 million yacht named Seven.
Beckham received his knighthood from King Charles III in late 2025.
