Britain's most beloved comic, the Beano, has delivered its unique and hilarious verdict on the events of 2025 in a special edition that is on sale now. Beanofy Unwrapped, an eight-page pull-out feature, transforms the year's biggest headlines from celebrity engagements to political drama into laugh-out-loud comic strips for families to enjoy together.
A Star-Studded, Mischief-Filled Year in Review
The special edition, released on Wednesday 19 November 2025, does not hold back on its comic interpretations of the year's main characters. Alan Carr's emotional victory on The Celebrity Traitors is featured, alongside Katy Perry's trip to space and Taylor Swift's engagement to Travis Kelce. In true Beano fashion, even world leaders and billionaires are not safe from a good-natured roasting.
One of the standout storylines involves a doomed mission to Mars. The comic depicts Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Sir Keir Starmer blasting off into space, joined by a miniature JD Vance dressed as a Labubu toy. The mission takes a chaotic turn when the ship is hijacked by the iconic Bash Street Kids, forcing the powerful passengers to abandon ship. The segment concludes with the Bash Street Kids saving the day and restoring order in Beanotown.
Holograms, Popcorn, and Celebrity Cameos
Elsewhere in the special pull-out, Dennis the Menace accidentally activates experimental technology that unleashes holograms of the year's biggest personalities and moments into Beanotown. This sets the stage for a spectacular battle of the bands between Oasis, Taylor Swift, and Coldplay, celebrating the year's biggest touring acts.
Fans of the upcoming Minecraft movie will recognise a scene where Jack Black gets pelted with popcorn during a "mutant chicken racing" event. The comic is packed with other celebrity appearances, including Cat Burns from The Celebrity Traitors, Katy Perry in her Blue Origin spacesuit, and Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
The Final Word from the Director of Mischief
Mike Stirling, the director of mischief at Beano, explained the thinking behind the special edition. He stated that with Beanofy Unwrapped, "kids get the final word on 2025". He added that all the "bad, sad or boring bits are banished", and the year's main characters are "'Beanofied' into the funniest versions of themselves".
Stirling also noted the inclusion of politicians, saying it was to remind "'groan-ups' that thinking like a kid can make everything funny". He confirmed the special is packed with laughter, mischief, and creativity for the whole family. The Beanofy Unwrapped special is available in this week's issue of the Beano, which went on sale from Wednesday 19 November 2025.
