Europe is currently experiencing its fifth consecutive extreme heatwave of the summer, which has brought historic temperatures, triggered devastating wildfires, and induced severe droughts across the continent.

Preparing to talk to Beake about the conditions, Preston said: "We can speak now to our Europe correspondent Nick Beake, who is in Brussels for us." He then told his colleague: "Nick, you're looking hot this morning. How's the picture across Europe?"
The host was seen smiling, seemingly amused by his own comment. Shortly after the broadcast, the clip was shared on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram by TV critic Scott Bryan.
