Bargain Hunt star James Lewis, 53, has married Ed Otter, a man 18 years his junior, in a small ceremony last September. The wedding was attended by just 50 guests, including his 17-year-old daughter Arabella from his first marriage.
His ex-wife has now been identified as Annabel, 56, a fellow antiques expert. The couple married in 1997 and welcomed their daughter 11 years later. James has described his new marriage as 'much easier to work with'.
Ed works as the Toys, Trains and Juvenalia Specialist at James's auction house, where James previously worked with Annabel. James revealed that his daughter Arabella even calls Ed 'dad'. Speaking to the Mirror, he said: 'I met my husband 15 years ago playing pool in the local pub. Was it love at first sight? Pretty much, yeah.'
James shared a touching moment when his daughter asked about her wedding day: 'She said, can we have a wide aisle, and can you both walk me up?' This bond prevented the couple from eloping in the US as originally planned.
James, who has survived two cardiac arrests, saw his heart rate soar to over 250 beats per minute on his wedding day. He noted that this was dangerously close to another cardiac arrest, with the incident occurring on September 11, the day of his wedding.
James has been a long-running expert on BBC's Bargain Hunt and previously appeared on Flog It! until it ended in 2020.
