Junior Bake Off judge Ravneet Gill has given birth to a baby boy, announcing the news on Instagram from her hospital bed. The 35-year-old pastry chef and author revealed that her son arrived earlier than expected after a "surprise labour" last Sunday.
Baby Roman Arrives
In a social media post, Ravneet shared a picture of herself cradling the newborn, smiling at the camera. She wrote in the caption: "Our darling boy entered the world a little earlier than I thought, after a surprise labour last Sunday. And by Monday, there he was. Welcome to the world Roman Taiano. Happy days."
Ravneet, who has been a judge on Junior Bake Off since 2021 alongside Harry Hill and former contestant Lima Charles, received congratulations from fellow cooking stars. Ruby Bhogal, a former Bake Off contestant, commented: "Oh Rav, I’m so so thrilled for you and your family! How you look this utterly stunning post birth is beyond me. Absolute goals in every sense."

Ellie Taylor, host of Bake Off: The Professional, wrote: "Congratulations Rav and may I say has there ever been a more beautiful woman post birth?? You look so gorgeous!!" Chef Ravinder Bhogal also shared her joy, saying: "Awwww congratulations darling to you & @mattiecookz. hellio Roman. Can’t wait to cuddle you xx"

Junior Bake Off Changes
Ravneet took over from Prue Leith on Junior Bake Off in 2021. Prue, who has been a judge on the main show for several years, announced her departure from The Great British Bake Off this year. She has been replaced by Nigella Lawson, who will join Paul Hollywood for the show's 17th series.
Nigella admitted to being "uncharacteristically rather lost for words" upon her appointment, saying: "Of course it's daunting to be following in the footsteps of Prue Leith and Mary Berry before her, great dames both, but I'm also bubbling with excitement." She added: "The Great British Bake Off is more than a television programme, it's a National Treasure - and it's a huge honour to be entrusted with it."
Host Alison Hammond has praised the chemistry between Nigella and Paul, calling it "unbelievable" during an appearance on ITV's Lorraine. She revealed: "Obviously, we've started [filming], so I've been watching. I'm telling you, the chemistry between her and Paul is unbelievable."
