Aubrey Plaza to Star as ‘Hollywood Madam’ Heidi Fleiss in Biopic

Aubrey Plaza is set to star in and produce The Heidi Fleiss Story, a biopic of the infamous “Hollywood madam” Heidi Fleiss, from Pinky Promise, the production company behind the Pamela Anderson drama The Last Showgirl, Deadline has confirmed.

The dark comedy marks the directorial debut of Leah Rachel, creator of Netflix series Chambers. Rachel Sennott, known for roles in Shiva Baby and Bottoms, co-wrote the script with Rachel and Travis Jackson. Jessamine Burgum and Kara Durrett will produce for Pinky Promise, alongside Plaza for Evil Hag. Production is set to take place in Los Angeles this year.

Fleiss became notorious in the 1990s for running a high-profile prostitution ring catering to Los Angeles’s rich and powerful, including Hollywood figures. Her empire collapsed in 1993 when she was arrested and charged with multiple counts, including pandering, and sentenced to prison. The film follows Fleiss in the tense days leading up to her trial as she navigates Los Angeles, using her web of connections to manipulate and blackmail her way out of the charges, with the help of an ambitious young writer named Jaclyn.
