Pop star Ariana Grande has made her rumoured relationship with dancer and photographer Ricky Alvarez Instagram official.
Rumours began swirling this summer that the pair were back together after they dated from 2015 until 2016.
Instagram Post
On Wednesday, Grande shared a carousel of photographs including one which appears to be the pair wearing matching white tops with Alvarez’s hand over the singer’s shoulder.
The couple’s faces are cropped out of the photograph but Grande tagged Alvarez who went on to reshare it on his Instagram story.
History and References
Alvarez was a back-up dancer for the singer’s Honeymoon tour, with the pair reportedly dating until 2016.
Following their split, Grande namedropped him in her 2018 song, Thank U, Next and sang about how she “wrote some songs about Ricky, now I listen and laugh”.
She appeared to have changed the lyrics during one of her shows earlier this summer as part of her Eternal Sunshine tour, replacing the second line with “We always find our way back”.
Grande later teased their relationship in a carousel tagging him in a Polaroid of herself.
Break from Public Life
It comes days after the singer announced she will take a break from public life after she wraps up her current tour.
She also revealed she has dropped out of the upcoming London revival of the Stephen Sondheim musical Sunday In The Park With George, in which she was due to appear opposite her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey.
A representative for Grande told People: “Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour.”
“She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”
Grande recently earned her sixth consecutive number one record in the UK album chart with Petal.
She is due to perform 10 sold-out shows at The O2, London from August 15 where she will complete her Eternal Sunshine tour.
