Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter, Apple Martin, has already secured a major fashion campaign just days after graduating from college. The 21-year-old is the star of the summer Chloe advertisement spread, which debuted on Tuesday.
Family Connections
Chloe designer Stella McCartney is a close friend of Martin's mother, Paltrow, leading to speculation that the Oscar-winning actress may have facilitated the opportunity. Paltrow and McCartney, daughter of Paul McCartney, have been friends for over 20 years and have collaborated on a Stella McCartney x Goop capsule collection in 2013, as well as appearing together on The Goop Podcast.
Campaign Details
In the campaign, Martin poses in white clothing on a beach, with a nod to Sandro Botticelli's 1800s painting The Birth of Venus as she sits in front of a half shell. The Chloe campaign, titled 'Chloé À La Plage by Chemena Kamali,' is described as a collection born from a dreamlike longing for summer's poetry. The campaign was photographed by David Sims and features Martin as an actress.
Martin has previously modeled for Self-Portrait and The Gap and has already secured a top Hollywood agent at CAA, signaling her intent to pursue acting. The Chloe campaign is seen as a strategic move to alert Hollywood that the latest 'nepo baby' is ready for the silver screen.
Graduation Celebration
Martin graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday, bringing her divorced parents, Paltrow and Chris Martin, together for the ceremony. Also in attendance were Paltrow's second husband, Brad Falchuk, and Martin's younger brother, Moses, a sophomore at Brown University. Martin majored in Law, History and Society at Vanderbilt, which has an acceptance rate of just 5.3%.
Proud mother Paltrow wore a pale blue dress with a red jacket and matching heels, while Falchuk donned a navy sweater and beige slacks. Martin shared a photo on Instagram Stories of herself in cap and gown holding her diploma.
Acting Aspirations
Although not a drama major, Martin has pursued theater as a member of the Vanderbilt Original Cast and has directed student productions. She told Interview Magazine last year that she loves theater 'more than anything' and dreams of acting. She has also denied previous rumors of being expelled from high school for bullying, calling the narrative 'completely false.'
