Anya Taylor-Joy looks ethereal in her latest photoshoot snaps, which were taken by the sea wearing a see-through dress that billowed in the wind. The A-list actress also opened up about her career after catapulting to fame thanks to her roles in Dune, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, The Witch and The Menu.
Interview with The Hollywood Reporter
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she explained that due to scheduling clashes she originally could not take on her role in the Dune franchise. She said: "I was devastated, I really wanted in on the world this man [Denis Villeneuve] had built."
While filming for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga she asked for constant updates and her team told her it was "over," but she persevered: "I was like, 'It's not over. I can feel it. I know it in my gut. This is not over.'"
Villeneuve's Offer
Villeneuve asked her to take six flights, meet him in Abu Dhabi, continue travelling to Namibia and shoot one scene in just one day: "It's probably my favourite filmmaking experience, ever." Her role was kept so quiet that even her co-stars had no idea she was in the film until the world premiere.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
While filming Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, director George Miller reportedly told her to keep herself as straight-faced as possible. The Hollywood Reporter wrote: "For six months, Anya Taylor-Joy was not allowed to breathe."
"On the Australian set of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, director George Miller delivered the same edict daily, with the patience and conviction of someone who has made exactly the movies he wanted to make his entire career: Don't breathe."
"Close your mouth. Show no emotion. He wanted an icon, and icons, in his view, do not fidget."
