Ant McPartlin's Milestone Birthday in the Jungle
Television favourite Ant McPartlin marked his half-century with an unusual celebration while filming the new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here in Australia on Tuesday. The beloved presenter, currently away from his family for the gruelling ITV endurance show, received a memorable surprise orchestrated by the production crew and his long-time co-host Declan Donnelly.
The Toilet Paper Cake Surprise
The birthday festivities began with a moment of comedy gold when Ant discovered an unexpected item in his trailer's toilet. Declan Donnelly, 49, initially appeared concerned when Ant announced he had 'found something' left behind. After briefly running off to retrieve the object, Ant returned triumphantly holding a creatively crafted birthday cake made entirely from toilet paper, specially designed for his milestone celebration.
Speculating about the origin of this unique gift, Ant suggested that Kiosk Kev, the regular from Deals On Wheels who often appears on the show, might have been responsible for placing the unusual present in his accommodation.
Family Life and Home Changes
Ant arrived in Australia earlier this month ahead of the current series, seemingly without his wife Anne-Marie Corbett, 46, and their 18-month-old son Wilder. While Anne-Marie has joined him during filming in previous years, she remained in the UK last year following the birth of their child. It remains uncertain whether she will travel to celebrate with him or if they plan to mark the occasion at a later date.
Back in the UK, the couple are preparing to move from their £6 million Wimbledon mansion after losing a planning battle regarding six protected trees on their property. The seven-bedroom luxury home, which features five reception rooms, a swimming pool with Victorian-style changing rooms, and a cinema, became the centre of controversy when neighbours objected to their original plans to remove the trees protected by a Tree Preservation Order.
Following the objections, the couple submitted revised plans to build garden rooms around the existing trees using special screw-pile foundations to minimise ground disturbance. However, 18 months later, they have decided to relocate to an undisclosed new property, despite having invested hundreds of thousands of pounds in refurbishments to their current home.
Fan Reactions and Career Milestones
Ant's birthday didn't go unnoticed by his loyal fanbase, who flooded social media with warm wishes and birthday messages for the popular presenter. The celebration comes as Ant continues his successful television partnership with Declan Donnelly, having worked together for decades since first meeting as teenagers.
The couple married in 2021 after Ant's separation from his first wife, Strictly Come Dancing make-up artist Lisa Armstrong, whom he had married in 2006. Prior to moving to Wimbledon, Ant had lived next door to Declan Donnelly in Chiswick for many years, cementing their both professional and personal bond.
