Andrew Garfield has asked presenter Amelia Dimoldenberg on a 'real date' during the latest episode of her popular YouTube series, Chicken Shop Date. The 41-year-old actor, who recently split from his girlfriend Dr Kate Tomas, appeared on the show on Friday, sparking fan speculation about a potential romance.
Throughout the interview, the pair's chemistry was evident, with Garfield firing questions back at Dimoldenberg and causing her to drop her usual deadpan persona. At one point, Dimoldenberg inadvertently 'friend-zoned' Garfield, quickly backtracking when she realised what she had done.
Garfield told Dimoldenberg: 'I think we'd have a really nice time without the camera. I think we'd just enjoy each other's company.' When she suggested they could 'be friends', he agreed she had friend-zoned him, prompting her to regret the comment and remind him: 'You have my number.'
The Spider-Man star then proposed a 'practice round' for a future date, saying: 'I think we should do it again, actually, and better.' Neither wanted the interview to end, with Garfield asking: 'How do we stop?'
Fans have reacted enthusiastically, with one writing: 'This video is either an absolute masterclass in acting or a public declaration of true love.' Another commented: 'He was so genuine that she couldn't even put on her awkward persona.'
