Steve Pemberton tipped for Celebrity Traitors series 2

Steve Pemberton, best known for Inside No. 9 and The League of Gentlemen, is reportedly in talks to appear in Celebrity Traitors series 2.

According to The Sun, the actor and comedian is a big fan of the BBC spin-off and could fill a similar role to Jonathan Ross, who became one of the programme's 'big dogs' last series.

A source said Pemberton would be a 'formidable contestant' given his ability to transform between characters. The BBC declined to comment when approached by RadioTimes.com.

Pemberton rose to fame with The League of Gentlemen in 1999, and later co-created and starred in Psychoville and Inside No. 9 with Reece Shearsmith. He also appeared in Benidorm and Happy Valley.

Other celebrities reportedly in talks include Alison Hammond, Ruth Jones, Amanda Holden and Danny Dyer. Dyer, formerly of EastEnders, reportedly turned down series 1 but changed his mind after watching.

Celebrity Traitors series 2 will air on BBC One later this year. Series 1 is available now on iPlayer.
