Amanda Bynes has displayed her latest tattoo, adding to her growing collection of body art. The 39-year-old former Nickelodeon star shared images on Instagram showing the words 'Trap Star' in bold lettering on her left hand. She had the tattoo done at Atomic Tattoo & Body Piercing in Los Angeles.
Bynes already has several tattoos, including Roman numerals for 10 on her finger, a snake on her upper thigh, a rose on her forearm and a heart on her cheek. She has previously explained that the Roman numeral X is a matching tattoo with her best friend Dylan, marking a decade of friendship. She described the snake as a symbol of transformation, saying it represents shedding the past and embracing personal growth.
The actress has also been open about her weight loss journey, which she began towards the end of 2024. In a December Instagram post, she revealed that she had lost 28lb using the medication Ozempic, falling from 180lb to 152lb. She had earlier explained that she initially took an oral version of the drug, which caused her weight to rise from 173lb to 180lb, before switching to an injection and losing weight. GLP-1 medications like Ozempic work by suppressing appetite and are commonly prescribed for diabetes.
Bynes rose to fame as a child star on Nickelodeon and later appeared in films including Hairspray, What A Girl Wants and Easy A. After retiring from acting in 2010, she faced mental health and addiction difficulties and was placed under a conservatorship in 2013, which gave her parents control of her financial and legal affairs. She successfully filed to end the conservatorship in 2022, with her parents' full support. Their attorney, Tamar Arminak, said at the time: 'The parents are happy, thrilled to get this good news. The professionals say she is ready to make her own life choices and decisions.'
In recent years, Bynes has launched a short-lived podcast, worked on fashion projects and teased the release of new music in December 2025. She has said she prioritises her well-being in this next chapter of her life.
