George Clooney Returns to Venice Film Festival Red Carpet with Amal Despite Illness

George Clooney made a triumphant return to the Venice Film Festival red carpet on Thursday night, August 28, after cancelling a press conference due to a sinus infection. The 64-year-old actor attended the premiere of his film Jay Kelly alongside his wife, Amal Clooney, who dazzled in a fuchsia ruffled mini-dress with a dramatic train.

Despite his illness, Clooney was in high spirits, greeting fans and shaking hands as he moved along the carpet in a sharp tuxedo. His representative had earlier confirmed the cancellation of the Netflix press conference, stating: 'We are working on another press conference moment, but we must regretfully cancel today's Netflix press conference. As you may have heard, George is under the weather but he's excited for you to see the film and looks forward to when he can discuss it with everyone.'

Director Noah Baumbach, who helmed the earlier press conference, sent his regards to Clooney, quipping: 'Even movie stars get sick!' Baumbach was joined by co-writer Emily Mortimer and stars Adam Sandler, Laura Dern, and Billy Crudup, who also attended the premiere in style.
