Alison Hammond's Weight Loss Transformation 'Added Years to Her Life'

Alison Hammond has reportedly lost nearly eight stone after overhauling her lifestyle, with sources claiming the transformation has 'extended her life expectancy by 30 years'. The This Morning star, 49, was diagnosed with prediabetes in 2020, prompting her to cut sugar, increase exercise and work with a personal trainer.

Speaking about her health scare at the time, Hammond said: 'I've never had health issues until then. It scared me because my mum had diabetes and I want to be there for my son. So I decided to do something about it.' She now shares her fitness routine, including weightlifting, cardio and circuit training, on social media.

A source told Bella Magazine: 'Alison has no intention of sliding back into her old ways. Her new look has empowered her. She loves being able to shop for clothes on the high street that aren't just plus-sized.' The insider added that Hammond, who previously wore a size 28, has 'extended her life expectancy by 30 years' through her weight loss.

In 2022, an emotional Hammond opened up about her lifelong struggle with obesity on This Morning, saying: 'I've had obesity all my life. What it is, your regulation system is out of whack. You can't control wanting to eat all the time. Obesity is a disease. You can't help it.' She also revealed she had previously undergone gastric band surgery but had it removed after three years due to health complications.
