Legendary comedy character Ali G is reportedly set to make a comeback to the big screen, with production having wrapped on a top secret new film. The character, created by comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, first appeared on Channel 4's The 11 O'clock Show in the late 1990s before landing his own show, becoming a household name in the UK and beyond.
Secret Shoot and Upcoming Release
According to Variety, the film was shot completely in secret, similar to Cohen's other hit project Borat and its sequel. No details have been released on the plot, but fans can expect Ali G's unorthodox interviewing style and classic sayings like "West Side" and "respek." The film marks the character's return 24 years after his last feature-length film, Ali G Indahouse.
Ali G's Iconic Moments
Ali G famously met Donald Trump in 2003, pitching an invention called the "ice cream glove" to keep hands warm and clean while eating ice cream. Trump stayed for about seven minutes, taking the character seriously. Ali G also interviewed philosopher Noam Chomsky, politician Newt Gingrich, and broadcaster Andy Rooney, often leaving guests puzzled by his streetwise questions.

Despite his Staines roots, Ali G broke through in the American market, shown on HBO and earning a cult following. Sacha Baron Cohen has continued with major movie projects, including an Oscar win for his role as Abbie Hoffman in The Trial of the Chicago 7. He has also starred in Les Misérables, The Dictator, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
