Legendary musician DJ Afrojack has cheated death after a metal blade smashed through his car windscreen, narrowly missing his face in a terrifying incident reminiscent of the film Final Destination.
The 38-year-old Dutch DJ, whose real name is Nick Leonardus van de Wall, shared a video on Instagram showing the aftermath of the crash. The blade was lodged in the shattered windscreen above the central console, just inches from where he was sitting.
In the caption, Afrojack wrote: "POV: Final Destination but it's not a movie." He also expressed gratitude, stating: "We got lucky, will post full update later." The post was accompanied by distressed face emojis.
The incident occurred while Afrojack was driving to the airport. He later posted additional videos and photos of the car, revealing that his friend Nick Fuso was driving at the time. Afrojack wrote: "Sometimes life sends me a reminder of how lucky I am to be here. Blessed with my family, blessed with my friends, and blessed with breathing. This was the scariest thing I've ever seen."
He thanked his friend for not crashing the car after the shock, and also thanked his wife, Elettra Lamborghini, for her support. The couple married in a lavish ceremony at Lake Como in 2020.
Fans were quick to offer support, with comments such as: "Brother... so glad you're safe," and "Glad you are ok bro. God's protection is with you."
Afrojack eventually made it to the airport and shared a lighthearted post from his aircraft seat, joking: "Team no car made it to Monterrey."
