Adam Thomas has provided an update on his mother Gail's health after she was rushed to hospital in an ambulance. The former Emmerdale star, along with his brothers Scott and Ryan, shared the ordeal on their podcast At Home with The Thomas Bro's.
Mum's surgery and recovery
In the latest episode, Adam recalled picking up his mother from the hospital following an operation. "Our mum had an operation recently and she rang me to pick her up from the hospital, it's the first time I saw her in quite a lot of pain and looked at her and thought she's getting older," he said. He wheeled Gail out of the hospital and she stayed at his house for several days as she was not well enough to be alone.
Scott's account of the emergency
Scott Thomas, known for his stint on Love Island, recounted the moments when Gail called him in distress. "This all happened a few weeks ago, I got a phone call of mum screaming saying 'get round here now'. I arrived and she was on the floor screaming in so much pain," Scott shared. "She was like 'I've called an ambulance, I don't know what's going to happen, I think I'm dying.' The ambulance came out and basically calmed her down and said 'listen, we think you've got a stomach bug'."
Despite reassurance from medics, Gail continued to suffer. Scott added: "The third day, she rang me again and said it had come back again, we called an ambulance again and she was in so much pain. When she went to hospital, she was told she had gall stones and had to have her gallbladder removed and she's been an absolute soldier."
Adam's I'm a Celebrity stint
The health update comes after Adam appeared on I'm a Celebrity South Africa, where his feud with boxer David Haye made headlines. On the podcast, brother Ryan joked that Adam had "ruined" the final. Adam laughed as Ryan said: "When you came out there, you were in big turmoil." Adam responded: "You know when you come out and they go, we're gonna show you the best bits, watching it all back?" Ryan quipped: "You didn't have any! You ruined that final! They won't even do on next year." Adam added that his best bits would be him "crying all the time."
