Manchester actor Adam Thomas has revealed that a loaded gun was put to his head on a bus when he was a teenager. He shared the story on the latest episode of the At Home With The Thomas Bros podcast, alongside his brothers Scott and Ryan Thomas, saying that at the time he first thought the weapon was a toy.
"I got a gun pulled to my head on a bus," Adam, 38, said. His brother Ryan, a former Coronation Street star, laughed and replied: "Are you joking? Were you in like Grand Theft Auto or something?"
Teenage ordeal on a double decker
Adam explained that the incident happened when he was about 14 or 15 years old. "I was sat at the back of the bus on a double decker," he said. "And this group of lads got on, and they basically pulled out a gun, and put it to my head. I thought it was like a pretend gun. Then they took the like revolver out and showed me all the bullets and I just s*** myself."
Adam, who has son Teddy, 11, and daughter Elsie-Rose, eight, with his wife Caroline, did not expand further on the incident. His brother Scott, a former Love Island star, then moved the conversation on.
Emotional tribute to Caroline
The latest episode comes after Adam's wife Caroline was moved to tears during a previous episode, when Ryan shared heartfelt comments about her. As that episode drew to a close, Scott told Caroline the brothers wanted to end on a high, sharing a montage of special moments and thanking her for her support.
Ryan added: "You've been there since these boys were kids and you've looked after all of us. Like, I couldn't have got through what I got through with Scarlet [his daughter] as a single parent. You were just my backbone, not just Adam and Scott's."
He continued: "I am grateful I've got you and the family. You look after Lucy [Mecklenburgh, his fiancee], you're always there for my kids, you know, Scarlett turns up at your hotel on your little romantic weekend away. It's just when we're down and out sometimes, we all need you."
Caroline admitted she was not expecting the tribute, saying: "I wasn't expecting this!" Ryan encouraged a round of applause for Caroline.
