Adam Sandler has opened up about his teenage daughters' discomfort with his on-screen romantic scenes, during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. The 57-year-old actor, who shares daughters Sadie, 17, and Sunny, 15, with wife Jackie Sandler, discussed the awkward family dynamics that arise from his work.
Sandler and Hudson, 42, who co-starred in the 2017 film Sandy Wexler, recalled their children's reactions to a kissing scene. Hudson shared that her son David, then six, asked, 'Mommy, why are you kissing Adam Sandler?' Sandler quipped, 'It never goes over good.'
When asked about his own daughters' responses, Sandler revealed, 'They're not thrilled about that. My wife is always telling them, 'It's okay, it's part of the job, let daddy kiss.'' He added that Sadie was generally fine, but Sunny would tell her mother, 'You have to watch them! That's not good, I don't like that!'
Sandler defended his kissing technique as 'tight-mouthed,' which Hudson confirmed was 'movie appropriate.' The actor recently appeared with his family at the premiere of the animated film Leo, in which his wife and daughters have voice roles. Sunny also stars in the Netflix film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.
