Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty married Holly Ramsay in a lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey on Saturday, attended by 200 guests including David and Victoria Beckham. However, the groom's parents were notably absent, deepening an ongoing family rift.
Peaty's mother, Caroline, expressed heartbreak over being excluded, saying she felt 'cut out of her heart'. Minutes before the ceremony, his aunt Louise sent a text cursing him and wishing that every anniversary would remind him of his treatment of his family.
Only Peaty's sister Bethany attended as a bridesmaid, a decision that reportedly sparked accusations of 'betrayal' from other family members. The swimmer also snubbed fellow swimmer Michael Gunning and former Strictly partner Katya Jones, who was absent from the guest list.
Peaty's ex-partner Eiri Munro, mother of his five-year-old son George, has criticised his decision to adopt the double-barrelled surname Ramsay-Peaty after the wedding. Sources claim she finds it 'hypocritical' given that Peaty rejected her request to give their son both surnames at birth.
The couple have since departed for their honeymoon, leaving behind the family drama for now.
