Olympic champion Adam Peaty has reportedly dealt his parents a 'cruel new blow' as a bitter family rift continues to escalate following his wedding to Holly Ramsay.
The Wedding Snub and Deepening Rift
Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay said 'I do' in a ceremony at Bath Abbey in December, surrounded by her family, including her father Gordon Ramsay, mother Tana, and celebrity guests like David and Victoria Beckham. Notably absent were the swimmer's own parents, Caroline and Mark Peaty, who were banned from attending the wedding amidst an ongoing family dispute.
The situation has now intensified with claims that Adam, 31, posted an image from the wedding day on a private social media account. According to a source speaking to The Sun, a family member received the image, which was also featured in Vogue magazine. The photo showed the newlyweds posing with Holly's parents, Gordon and Tana Ramsay, their son, and the Beckhams.
"This picture appeared on a family member’s socials, and it was galling," the source revealed. "To see Adam and his bride in her ensemble would have been lovely but the photos showed them with Gordon and Tana, their son and the Beckhams!"
A Picture That Speaks Volumes
The source added that the image has been deliberately kept from Adam's parents, Caroline and Mark. "Just look at the Beckhams posing where Caroline and Mark should be. Gordon’s son is there too but not Adam's," they said, highlighting the perceived slight. The photo was not shared on Adam's public social media channels, adding a layer of privacy to the alleged act.
This incident follows reports of a major fallout between Adam and his mother Caroline weeks before the wedding, which resulted in her exclusion. The former Strictly Come Dancing star had initially intended for his entire family to be present, even planning for one of his brothers to be a groomsman.
Emotional Speeches and Scathing Messages
The wedding day itself was filled with emotion. Gordon Ramsay described his father-of-the-bride speech as 'explosive' and 'fiery'. "Being a dad of three daughters, you dream of that moment. I was a hot mess but the speech was perfect, it went well. You’ve got to be warm and emotional but it was a tough gig," he said.
His daughter Tilly Ramsay confirmed the speech's impact, stating it "made everybody cry." Adam also made a speech, vowing he would "always choose" his new wife, Holly.
Hours before the ceremony, Adam's aunt, Louise, sent him a scathing text message he never received as he had blocked his family. The message read: "I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through and despite it all she loves you still. Shame on you both. Shame. Remember on this, your happiest day, and on each anniversary of your happiest day, that you hurt your mum so deeply her soul screams."
The sharing of the wedding photo is seen as the latest development in this painful family estrangement, leaving the possibility of reconciliation seemingly more distant than ever.
