Abbey Clancy has admitted to going through husband Peter Crouch's phone and discovering a celebrity crush that left her feeling "physically ill". The revelation came during a recent episode of their podcast, The Therapy Crouch.
Phone Snooping Admission
The model, 40, who has been married to former England footballer Peter, 45, since 2011, confessed to checking his messages. "I went through your phone," she said, defending the action by adding: "Everyone does that, every girl does that."
Peter, however, was not impressed, warning listeners: "Girls, if you're listening, don't do that, it's not nice." Abbey countered that she learns things from the practice, saying: "But I find out things from you by doing that."
The Crush on Jet
What she found was a crush on Gladiators star Jet, whose real name is Diane Youdale. "I found out you had this crush on Jet from the Gladiators, which I didn't speak to him for two days after," Abbey revealed. "He was like, 'Abbey, she's like 60' and I was like, 'I don't care, it made me physically ill'. I was so upset."
Peter tried to explain that his admiration dated back years, saying: "But I'm allowed to fancy someone from 25 years ago. That was well before you as well, I was around 14 [when] I was watching Jet." Abbey remained unconvinced, replying: "I know, but still knowing my husband fancies someone else..."
Jet's Background
Jet, now 56, became a household name starring in the original UK Gladiators series in the 1990s. She was romantically linked to fellow Gladiator Hunter, real name James Crossley. Her time on the BBC series ended in 1996 after a near-fatal neck injury during a stunt on the Pyramid.
Diane previously recalled landing awkwardly after an aerial tackle, compressing her spinal cord, and deciding to leave the show. She said: "I just thought 'I'm out of there'. I'm sorry, but that was too close for comfort."
