Abbey Clancy Reveals Row That Nearly Kept Peter Crouch from Son's Birth
Abbey Clancy Row Nearly Kept Peter Crouch from Son's Birth

Abbey Clancy has disclosed the remarkable moment when a massive argument with husband Peter Crouch nearly left her facing childbirth alone.

The model shared the dramatic story on their Therapy Crouch podcast, joined by her close friend Liberty. The duo reminisced about their longstanding friendship, with Liberty recounting how she found herself caught between Abbey and Peter during an especially heated exchange just before their son Jack's arrival.

Abbey Left for Hospital Alone

Abbey revealed that she and the former England footballer had a falling out as she was about to go into labour. She said: "I left for the hospital on my own. So I left the house and said, 'You are not coming.' So I was like, 'Pete's not coming.'"

She then remembered telling her husband: "You're not allowed to be at this birth, you're not even coming."

With emotions running high, Abbey turned to Liberty to be her birthing partner instead, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Liberty and Peter Went to Nando's

Liberty described finding herself positioned as the "mediator" between the warring couple. However, despite the dispute, she disclosed that she and Peter, 45, actually went out for a meal while Abbey was at the hospital.

Abbey, 40, remembered: "So then, Liv came with me."

Liberty revealed that she and Peter went to Nando's, saying: "So me and Peter went off and had a right good Nando's. Rather than eating it in Nando's and being nice, we just brought it back."

Jack's Swift Arrival

Abbey eventually relented and permitted Peter into the delivery room. She explained: "So then I was like, 'Lib, I need you to be my birth partner. I'll allow Pete to be in the room.'"

Liberty confessed she momentarily left the room after thinking she'd successfully mediated the disagreement between the pair, inadvertently missing the actual birth. "I know. Yeah, I did. Missed it," she acknowledged.

Jack's arrival proved remarkably swift, with Abbey recounting how a medic instructed her to push moments before their son emerged almost instantaneously.

Abbey recalled: "The doctor said, 'Right, you've got a contraction, I want you to push.' So I pushed and he went, 'You're gonna have to do better than that.' So the next, so I laughed, and then he just came out."

Liberty quipped: "It was like having a small poo."

Abbey, a Liverpool native, first encountered Peter during his stint with the Reds. The pair tied the knot in 2011 and now raise four children together. Beyond Jack, they're parents to daughters Sophia and Liberty, as well as their youngest son, Johnny.

The duo have frequently discussed their relationship on Therapy Crouch, regularly making light of their squabbles and contrasting personalities. This latest disclosure follows Peter's recent jest about drawing "a line" regarding experimenting within their marriage.

Addressing a listener's cheeky predicament on the podcast, Peter remarked: "I think you've got to be trysexual. Yeah, try anything once."

Abbey hit back with a sharp retort: "Okay, if you want to try everything, then bend over," sending the pair into fits of laughter.

Peter was quick to set the record straight, admitting: "Well, yeah, you're allowed to have boundaries. No, I don't think try everything. Certain things I don't wanna try."

Abbey then fired back with yet another straight-talking quip, asking: "What about f**k off?", leaving the couple in hysterics once more.
