First Training Session

O'Reilly was enjoying his first training session in Kansas City just two hours before a tornado struck the area. Asked about his first impressions, he said: 'Togetherness. It is a really great group and we have bonded. I think you will see that on the pitch.'

Teammate Dan Burn's Comments

Teammate Dan Burn, 34, at his first World Cup, said: 'Brotherhood, the manager has spoken a lot about that. It is a big thing. First and foremost, we have top-quality players and one of the best forwards in the World in Harry Kane. I feel like this is the type of tournament where players who are normally stars for their clubs are going to have to take a slightly different role. That's leaning into that brotherhood thing again, where we are just happy for each other and happy to help out as much as we can.'

World Cup Organising Committee

Pam Kramer, CEO of KC2026, the World Cup Organising Committee, said they had been 'thrilled' to welcome England. She added: 'The fact that Kansas City was selected as a base camp destination for England, Argentina, the Netherlands and Algeria speaks to the strength of our soccer culture and decades of investment in the game. This summer is about more than matches. It's an opportunity to showcase a region that is welcoming, and ready to host the world.'
