Dad breaks Guinness World Record by eating 15 fish fingers in 60 seconds
Dad breaks fish finger world record after TV vow

Nathan Davies, a 32-year-old project manager from Bury, Greater Manchester, has fulfilled a promise made live on national television by breaking a Guinness World Record. The father of two ate 15 fish fingers in just 60 seconds, securing the title for the most fish fingers eaten in one minute.

From quiz show winner to record holder

Davies first announced his ambition while appearing on ITV's The 1% Club, where he won £98,000. Hosted by Lee Mack, the quiz show tests contestants' ability to answer questions that only 1% of the population can get right. After his win, Davies declared he wanted to break a world record, and he has now made good on that vow.

He chose fish fingers for the challenge because they are a staple in his household, thanks to his two young sons. Before the official attempt, Davies tested his speed by eating four fish fingers and felt confident he could succeed.

The record attempt

During the official attempt, Davies consumed 15 fish fingers in one minute. Despite his success, he admitted the achievement feels surreal. He told Guinness World Records: "A bit strange, very proud to have a world record, but less proud when it's fish finger related!"

Davies believes he could have eaten more if the fish fingers had been allowed to cool longer. He said: "I think I could have done more if I had let them cool down longer, but just happy to have the record."

Life after the record

Davies' record comes months after his life-changing win on The 1% Club. When asked if he plans to pursue another unusual record, he joked: "Not if my wife has any say!"
